Born in Quebec, Charles H. White displayed an early interest in art and by the age of ten had won his first national art contest. Selling many of his works while still in his teens, White decided to further refine his artistic talents and business skills at Brigham Young University. After graduating, he began a 20-year sales career and painted as a vocation. In 1994, when income from his art exceeded earnings from his sales position, he decided to pursue a career as a painter. Each of White's compositions is classically crafted with attention to the principles of design, color, value and contrast. His time-consuming techniques create a luminous, multi-layered work that welcomes viewers into a world of tranquil beauty and elegance. His originals are collected around the world from New York to Japan and various European countries.
Charles White is one of America's most prolific and popular artists working today. In the past 25 years Charles has produced and sold close to 1000 original oil paintings through major galleries and reproductions of his work on canvas and paper have sold in the thousands around the world.
His images adorn book covers, greeting cards, calendars, puzzles, plates and many other products across the U.S. and Canada. He has been the subject of many press articles and given many workshops and lectures around the country. He produced an instructional video and has written a book about his life and work called, "The Path Worth Taking" published in 2011.
