Wilfrido is a self-taught artist whose paintings take the viewer on an imaginative journey through folk scenes of people, pets, sea, and landscapes. He uses brilliant colors to create captivating scenes, sometimes with a sense of humor. This artist with a hopeless penchant for minute details came up with the term folk-realism to describe his unique style of blending the look of naive-art with realistic elements.
His passion for the arts started at a very young age. After earning a business degree, he managed the family textile and apparel business for over 20 years. He also designed the infant and children's wear lines including the original prints, embroideries, and appliqués, which have been sold in top department stores all over the United States and Europe.
