I am a lifelong artist and educator who enjoys making all kinds of art and sharing my talent and love for art with others. I have lived in Tennessee for the past forty years. Currently, residing in Dickson with my husband Wade of twenty one years, and our four children Rachel, Houston, Hunter, and Trevor. I have been teaching in the public school system for 23 years, leaving breifly to become the founding art director for the Renaissance Center in Dickson, Tennessee. I also was the creative director and talent in an art video series called “In My Studio" with Miss Kimberly. This show targeted young artists and included a little art history as well as an art lesson in each one of the 36 episodes. “You are either an art teacher or an artist. You cannot be both.” I disliked that statement made by an art professor when I was in college.. I have always wanted both. However, spending the last few decades raising four children and teaching full time, I think I understand what he meant. Now my children are all but grown. It is my time now, time for me to concentrate on my passion and love for creating and painting. This fall, I began painting again and just felt the urge to pursue my personal passion a little more. Years of teaching, looking at, talking about and admiring other artists’ work, I have decided I need to see if I have what it takes to follow a path I started down a long time ago.
