Gregory Clair’s experience in the outdoors began at an early age while accompanying his father hunting upland birds in Michigan and later in Ohio. Although he earned his living elsewhere, he studied and painted wildlife on the side. He entered his first art competition in 1989 -- the 1990 Ohio Wetlands Stamp Contest -- and finished as a semifinalist. The next year he won the Ohio Contest. Over the next 10 years he received many honors and worked with and donated to Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, National Wild Turkey Federation, Quail Unlimited, Ruffed Grouse Society and Wildlife Legislative Fund America. Now painting full time, he lives with his family in Ohio.
"Whenever I am in the out-of-doors I am awed at the diversity and intricacy of God’s magnificent creation," says the artist. "I hope to evoke similar emotions in those who view my art. My relationship with God has greatly increased my appreciation and awareness of wildlife and nature."
