As a baby boomer from New Hampshire, Joseph LaPierre received formal art education from the New England School of Art and the Boston Museum School of Art. Years later this art training served LaPierre and his country well. La Pierre was a Vietnam veteran and painted murals for the U. S. Army. While continuing to develop his creative skills during the 70s and 80s, La Pierre worked as an art director. His career portfolio grew through tenure at corporations in California, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Florida. Other talents were culled during that time when he performed as a singer songwriter. Today this this popular artist uses a palette knife and thick, full-bodied, golden, acrylic paint to keep his paintings very loose and bright. A unique style adds to the cheerful, lighthearted and optimistic feelings of the every day life portrayed in his work.
