Artist's Statement/Quote
As a designer and sculptor for over 30 years in the collectible industry I am proud to have developed a character that I believe is a real individual. Bad Baby will appeal to anyone who has children and anyone who's glad that they haven't.
For more than 34 years, Jaki Katz Ashford has created paintings, designs and sculpture. Her creative talents have earned her a stellar reputation in the field of medallic arts, and she has produced more than 1,000 medals. Among the many important pieces to her credit are the Century IV medal for the City of Philadelphia, the United Nations Peacekeeping Medal and coins of the realm for several nations. In 2005, she was commissioned by the Detective’s Endowment Association from the City of New York to create a bronze memorial sculpture to honor the beloved detective John "Jack" Healy. A native of Philadelphia, Jaki attended the Tyler School of Art of Temple University at the age of 14 and was the youngest student ever accepted at that time.
